Ellis INGERSOLL, a well known and prosperous farmer who resided a mile Southeast of New Market, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon while out on the farm. He had gone to look after some stock and when he did not return, his daughter, Martha Ann went in search of him and found him lying in the woods pasture. Coroner Ball pronounced the cause of his death of heart failure. Mr. Ingersol has been in poor health for several years and planned to leave the farm but the call of his son Robert to the colors caused him to continue to the present. Mr. Ingersoll was in the Independent Office Friday and solicited our aid in securing a nurse for his wife who is seriously ill. Funeral plans are not complete at present. - kbz
